Nietzsche claims that entities that reinterpret the world again and again are strong. That way sorrow and loss which is linked to trying to keep tradition can be avoided. Nietzsche wants his readers to open up and accept nature as it is in all its manyfold appearances. In order to be able to interpret nature it is mandatory to imagine. It is weak to claim that your imagination is the only truth. That could get you destroyed. A strong person is someone who is ready to change in order to avoid self-destruction.

For the trees of the forest

For centuries, the Aguaruna people living in the Peruvian Amazon have used natural forest medicines as a cure for diseases and illnesses. Historically, one of the most important medicinal plants in Peru is the Cinchona, commonly known as quina or cascarilla, which has been used since pre-hispanic times as a cure for different illnesses. Jesuit Missionaries introduced this natural medicine into Europe around 1640 as a cure for malaria and it became one of the most important export products in the Peruvian Amazon between 1880 and 1990. Nevertheless, the Peruvian presence in the market decreased as competitors appeared in the market and quinina started to be processed in laboratories. Quina trees
started to lose importance and the old forests that produced the famous bark were used as coffee or cocoa cultivation sites. Today, in Peru the quina species is almost extinct.
Intermediate Technology Development Group (ITDG), an international development agency, is working with the Aguaruna people on a micro enterprise scheme to encourage a revival in the use of medicinal forest plants without harming the forest and repeating the fate of the Quina.

http://www.tve.org/ho/series2/outoftheforest.html

fun working in Kenya

http://onlinefast.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=9

The sun

http://www.tve.org/ho/series2/powertothepeople.html#g

Glowstar - Kenya In many parts of the developing world people who live in rural areas have no access to electricity (around two billion people). As a result, most families are forced to rely on candles or kerosene lamps to provide basic lighting in their homes. In Kenya, for example, 96% of householders rely upon kerosene lighting lamps, and 70% supplement this lighting with battery powered torches. Kerosene lamps are potentially hazardous and the running costs are high, with rural households spending about £5 per month on fuel and batteries. This recurrent cost every month eats up valuable financial resources that could otherwise be directed towards children's education or family health. For many people, the provision of light in their homes can compete directly with other household essentials.
Energy from the sun is freely available and many countries in the developing world have it in plentiful supply. As a result there has been a growing interest in the use of Photo-Voltaics (the technology used to convert the sun's energy into electricity) as a renewable and environmentally friendly source with which to provide low cost light and power in rural communities. Artists seldom portray particular people, actual animals, or the actual form of invisible spirits. Rather, they aim to portray ideas about reality, spiritual or human, and express these ideas through human or animal images.
Luminosity:
The lustrously smooth surface of most African figural sculpture, often embellished with decorative scarification, indicates beautifully shining, healthy skin. Figures with rough surfaces and deformities are intended to appear ugly and morally flawed.
Self-composure:
The person who is composed behaves in a measured and rational way; he or she is controlled, proud, dignified, and cool.
Youthfulness:
A youthful appearance connotes vigor, productiveness, fertility, and an ability to labor. Illness and deformity are rarely depicted because they are signs of evil.
Clarity of form and detail, complexity of composition, balance and symmetry, smoothness of finish:African artists place a high value on fine workmanship and mastery of the medium.

http://www2.lib.virginia.edu/artsandmedia/artmuseum/africanart/Elements.html

Vibrant Yellow to borrow

A handcrafted original Candle wax batik, created in Tanzania.
These batiks are created using candle wax and dye. Depictions of elegant human figures, richly hued animals, and figures combining human and animal features—called therianthropes and associated with shamanism—continue to inspire admiration for their sophistication, energy, and direct, powerful forms. The apparent universality of these images is deceptive; content and style range widely over the African continent. Nevertheless, African rock art can be divided into three broad geographical zones—southern, central, and northern. The art of each of these zones is distinctive and easily recognizable, even to an untrained eye.
Not all rock art in these three zones is prehistoric; in some areas these arts flourished into the late nineteenth century, while in other areas rock art continues to be made today. In the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa, a number of rock paintings depict clashes between San (Bushmen) people and European colonists mounted on horses and armed with rifles. Many of the Drakensberg works use subtle polychrome shading that gives their subjects a hint of three-dimensional presence. The product of many authors, time periods, and cultures, the flowing naturalism and lively sense of movement of the best rock art attests to the conviction of masterful hands and trained eyes.

<a
